Adam Collin

Adam Collin was promoted to the first team in July 2001 and stands at an imposing 6 foot 3 inches tall. Collin has set his sights on being the No. 1 goalkeeper at St. James' Park, ahead of Shay Given, Steve Harper and John Karelse.

One of Collin's idols is Shay Given and one of his most admired players is former Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Tim Flowers. He is well on his way to becoming the first choice keeper at St James' Park, but suffered a setback in October 2001 when he broke his arm in a training ground accident but is fit and carrying on his good form.

Collin made the Toon first team squad as cover for Steve Harper for FA Cup Quarter Final with Arsenal in March 2002. That, and the victory in the Reserve Play Off Final against Manchester United in May 2002, are the highlights of his Newcastle United career so far.

There should be many more of them to come as Collin has a bright future ahead of him at Newcastle, and should he edge out the competition, he should quicky make the starting 11.
